 Earth's Song

Earth's Song offers ten acres of pristine oaks, boulders, native plants, nature trails, and wildlife! Nestled in a secluded valley near Ramona (about 40 minutes from central San Diego), this private property features a unique eco-friendly straw bale home, a composting operation, an organic garden, and our resident ecologist.

A RECENT ADVENTURE

We had a blast at our most recent eco-literacy camp, "Creative Writing & Composting," in connection with The Regenerative Writing Institute, The Soil Food Web, and Earth's Song!

Open to students, teachers, parents, kids, and worms of all ages, this one-day nature immersive merged the intricacies of soil science with the possibilities of wordcraft. We engaged layers, exposed details, and experimented freely! We learned about the biology living in soil, then observed it wriggling about
under a microscope. We worked as a team to build a new compost pile. We contemplated the nature of creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience while filling notebooks with original writing. At the end of the day, everyone had bags of microbially-rich compost, and a host of new connections to savor!
